Member and Legal Advisor
Theophilus R. Nix, Jr., has
a multitude of professional experience from the private, corporate,
not-for-profit and government sectors. Theo is currently the Founder, CEO, and
President of Drone Workforce Solutions, LLC, a national
education, training, and employment company. He is a big proponent of Workforce
Development and the need to retrain and employ Americans at all levels for a
new global world. For the past 15 years, Theo has been in-house counsel for DuPont, a $35 billion,
218-year-old global Fortune 100 science, chemical, agricultural, and
biotechnology company with offices in 90 countries. His role includes providing
legal/business and complex negotiations for DuPont in the “Operations,
Materials and Services,” a $3.4 billion annual spend department. The department
covers environmental, EPC, EPCM, CCMS, FS&RE, construction management,
engineering, architectural, and equipment/purchasing projects, and working with
professional consultants as part of a $17 billion overall purchasing
department.
Prior
to this role, Theo served as Manager of Contracts and Procurement/Counsel for O’Neill
Properties Group, LLC, a billion-dollar, national commercial and
residential real estate development company respected developers in the
country. In addition, over his career, he has held executive management
positions with 1) La Comunidad Hispana, Inc, a 35-year nonprofit
agency dedicated to assisting Latinos and migrant farmworkers in health,
education, housing and social services, 2) Bechtel Corporation, one of the most
extensive international construction management and engineering private
companies, where he negotiated large, complex governmental and private sector
multi-million dollar design, environmental and construction contracts, and 3) Boston
Housing Authority, the 4th largest housing authority in the
United States, with an annual construction budget of $250 million.
Theo
has also held elective office on the Town of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts Finance
Committee, which oversaw and crafted financial budgets for 32 town departments.

He also worked as an intern in Congress for the late William V. Roth, USS
Delaware and as an intern at the National Labor Relations Board for Member
Howard Jenkins, Washington, DC. Theo is a graduate of Ithaca College and Howard
University School of Law. Theo has served and continues to serve on multiple
boards and committees.
